Malta Nomad Residence Permit
Malta is a small and densely populated sovereign island nation located in the Mediterranean Sea. Malta is located 58 miles south of Sicily, and 180 miles north of the African continent, giving the country a warm, Mediterranean climate.
The nation’s capital is the 16th century city of Valletta. Malta has been a member of the European Union since 2004, enjoys a stable political climate, bi-partisan political scene, growing economy, and has some of the soundest banks in the world.
In June 2021, Malta introduced the Nomad Residence Permit, enabling holders to retain their current employment based in another country whilst legally residing in Malta. The Permit is aimed at those who are able to earn a living remotely and who choose to travel frequently.
A Nomad Residence Permit will be issued for one year and can be renewed upon application, as long as the applicant still meets the set eligibility criteria. Applicants who are interested in staying for less than a year will be issued with a National Visa valid 91 days – 180 days, depending on their duration of stay.
