Standards rival any in the world. The UAE Start-up Visa was launched in 2020 under the name UAE Business Visa. Unlike the UAE Entrepreneur Visa, it doesn’t require a 500,000 AED investment but it does require endorsement from an approved incubator. You initially receive a six-month visa to start your business project. Once started, you can request a five-year renewable resident permit.

Process

In order to obtain the UAE Business Visa, you will need to have your nomination approved by an authorized government incubator in the UAE (currently AREA 2071 in Dubai and HUB71 in Abu Dhabi). The visa holder can nominate up to three of their business’ senior staff to obtain residency.

Requirements

  • Be able to substantiate your experience as an entrepreneur
  • Have been a majority shareholder of a start-up or a member of its senior leadership
  • Be willing to relocate to the UAE and legally establish a business in one of the Emirates
  • Have a business idea or business plan that you wish to the UAE

Other requirements:

  • Have the approval letter from an accredited business incubator in the UAE to establish the proposed activity in the country (founder of a project)
  • Have a valid copy of your passport
  • Present valid health card insurance, which is at least a year and can be extended
  • Proof of housing in the country (such as home ownership or a house rental contract)
