EU Blue Card Program

The Blue Card is a residence and work permit for highly-skilled workers from non-EU member states. It enables qualified third-country citizens to immigrate to Germany legally and permanently, offers the following privileges to immigrants and their families. After 33 months of residence, Blue Card holders are eligible for permanent residency. Those who prove they have good German language skills (level B1 or above) may be granted permanent residence after 21 months.

Successful applicants will obtain Blue Cards issued for a period of 4 years. Spouses and children under 18 years old may accompany the main applicant and successful applicants are also able to move to another EU country after residing in Germany for at least 18 months.
