Application Process
The Cyprus Permanent Residence Program, also know as the Golden Visa, was launched in 2020 following the suspension of Cyprus’ citizenship-by-investment program. Since the CBI suspension. Cyprus revamped its Golden Visa to make it more attractive. The Golden Visa allows permanent residency in the country. Naturalization is possible after seven years in the country, but it’s possible that Cyprus will amend its law in the near future to fast-track investors.
Investment Requirements
- Purchase of a first-time sale residential property or sets of properties with a minimum value of EUR 300,000 .
- Applicants are permitted to purchase a combination of real estate projects, so long as one property is residential.
- The property must be brand new; no resale property would qualify. As such, the property must be purchased from the developer who built the property.
- Applicants should provide supporting evidence of secure annual income from abroad of at least EUR 30,000. For spouse and dependent children included in the application an additional EUR 5,000 per person must be added to this amount and EUR 8,000 for each parent of the main applicant or their spouse.
Other requirements:
- Applicants should have no intention to undertake any employment in Cyprus. They can own a business registered in Cyprus and receive dividends from this business.
- Applicants must have a clean criminal record and should not be in the list of persons whose property is frozen by the EU as a result of sanctions.
- Applicants must visit Cyprus within 1 year of approval to provide biometrics for issuance of permanent residency (PR) card. All family members are required to visit Cyprus once every two years.
- PR holders may have their permit revoked if they are granted permanent residence in another country.
