Application Process
If you are approved, you will receive an initial two-year resident permit that will be renewed once more before you receive a five-year permit. There are no physical presence requirements to maintain your status, but you need to visit Spain at least once and hold onto the investment for 5 years.
Requirements
- The investment must be at least EUR 500,000 through a real estate purchase. The investment can be made freely and financed if the down payment is at least EUR 500,000. You can also make the investment via a registered company as long as you own 100% of that company.
Other investment options
- EUR 2,000,000 in Government Bonds (5-year maturity)
- EUR 1,000,000 in shares or bank deposits
- Investment in a business project in scientific and technological innovation (no minimum amount)
Other requirements:
- Provide a criminal record certificate certifying the applicant’s record in the country of his or her residence.
- A medical certificate issued by a recognized state or private institution stating that the person is in good health and does not require public health measures.
- Travel insurance that covers the length of the visa and covers any expenses that may occur in the event of medical repatriation, immediate medical care and emergency hospital services.
